Have you ever asked yourself these questions: Why am I poor? Why some people are rich? Why are the rich become richer and the poor become poorer? Why is it that my salary not enough? Why can't I live without my credit card? Why? Why? Why?
Now, it's time! It's time to dream big! Never ever underestimate the power of thinking. It all starts with our minds. And have that burning desire to become a millionaire.
Why not become rich? Why not experience life to the fullest? Why not become rich and help the poor? Why give fish to the poor (to feed them for a day) if you have the power to teach them how to fish (to feed them for a lifetime)? Why not invest today so that you can't be an employee forever? Why not build your own business to offer more jobs to the needy?
Please don't get me wrong. In our Filipino culture, we are taught that rich people are bad, rich people can't go to heaven, rich people are greedy. Money is not the root cause of all evil. But poverty is. Why? Because many of those listed crimes today are due to poverty. We have to realize that money is neutral. We can use money in good things or in bad. See? It's up to us. It's in our hands. It’s our choice to make. If you want a better life, change how you behave. And if you want to change how you behave, change first how you think.

Opportunities are Never Lost… It’s just that somebody grabbed it cause you never did.
Last May 2010, the company I’m working with had launched its self-learning library. The available books are about Engineering, Management, Taxation, Procurement, Economy, Investment and Finance, Career Development, Inspirational, and even Novels. It’s just a small library but I find it very useful for every employee. And this really made me happy cause some expensive books which I’ve been longing to buy from National Book Store or PowerBooks are already in my grasp. I can borrow it for a week or two without any expense.
In spite of being grateful for having the mini-library, I feel sad too. You know why? Only about 10% of the employees are using it. I couldn’t understand why but I heard them say: “Oh, I don’t have time to read.” “Reading is not my game.” “I feel sleepy when I read.” “I don’t like reading.” “I have a baby to feed, reading’s just a waste of time.” These excuses really break my heart. One opportunity is already in front of them but they didn’t notice it, they didn’t grab it.
My colleagues are always complaining about our low salary. Every year, they are hopeful to get a high increase and felt bad if they don’t get one. They failed to acquire financial education. They failed to realize that reading books about investment, finance, management, etc. would help them manage their finances in life. The billionaires of the world don’t fail to read. Even my idol Warren Buffet (3rd richest man in the world as of March 2011) reads a lot, too.
How about you? When can your eyes be open to every opportunity that’s coming your way? I hope it’s not too late. Open your eyes now and grab one.

A Little Sacrifice Could Make Me a Millionaire (Why Not?)
My friends have known me to be a soda addict for years. I dunno why, but I couldn't last a day without drinking a bottle or two. I just couldn't stop myself from loving it. Last year, I've been trying to refrain from drinking it everyday but I ended up hopeless. Maybe I didn't have my deep reason that time.
But now... guess what? It's been four months since I stopped drinking sodas. Wanna know why? Wanna know what triggered me to stop it? There are two reasons: health and money.
Health. I did dieting and exercise but still I'm gaining weight. Huh! No doubt, it's because of soda's high sugar content which is higher than our required sugar intake for a 2,000-calorie diet. The following are some of the health effects of drinking soda:
(2) Dental decay
Money. It all started from reading books and listening to audiobooks. I'm very grateful that it's not too late to gain my financial education. I love reading books of Bo Sanchez, Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, books about my idol Warren Buffet, and many more. I really admired their financial intelligence. They are brilliant and extraordinary. Now, I'm not earning that much but I realized that I can do a little sacrifice just to save money for investment. Before, I spent about Php20 per day for my softdrinks. But now, I can save Php600 a month (from drinking soda) and start investing.
Oh! I forgot to mention about going to laundry shop once a week. I spent Php700 per month for that laundry. But now, I do it myself. I save all the money from my little sacrifices and invest it in stock market. Who knows what tomorrow brings? I can be a millionaire in 20 or 30 years from now. Lol.
